Things that make me late for work...

Ya know 2 and a half years ago, b.c. in other words (before child) I was NEVER late for work, I was actually usually early. These days it quite a different story. No matter how hard I try, how much earlier I get up, or even how much I prepare the night before it never fails. Here are some things that usually hold us up.

1. Breakfast decisions. I've been trying lately to get Jordan to decide what he wants for breakfast. Not a good idea. He wants oatmeal, no, he wants cereal, no he wants toater strudel, no fwen toe momma. AHHHHHHH

2. Refusing to get dressed. Jordan has been easily side tracked lately. Once I finally talk him into getting dressed after bribing him with whatever I can think of, or just plainly threatning him that I'll put his bare butt out in the freezing snow (no I really wouldn't do this, it's just a threat), I finally get him halfway dressed and he runs off and won't let me catch him and it starts all over again.

3. Time at the toilet. We're in the mist of potty training (I'll save that for another blog), but it always seems like after we've gotten our jackets on, we're about to walk out the door and..."Momma, go potty." How can I say No really, we are trying to train him. He does go, but it's time consuming.

4. Jordan, where's my cell phone. This happened this morning. We're walking out the door and it dawns on me...."Jordan, where's my phone." The kid looks at me like 'what's a phone anyway.' So, I look all through the kitchen, in the fridge, in the cupboards (this is a toddler we're talking about remember.) I look in the living room, under the couch, (found the remote we've been missing, no phone), I look in the bedrooms, the bathrooms, even in the toilet. Nothing. I now have to be to work in 5 minutes, Jordan's got his sneakers off and is working on his socks ARGGG! So, I decide to call it, I would've done this sooner, but we rarely get service where we live so I didn't think it would work. Hhh, I hear it, I follow the sound of my ACDC ringtone to Jordan's room.....over to his bed, no wait over to his toy box, sure enough there it is in the toy box.

So if you ever set up a meeting with me, keep in mind I have a 2 year old who is potty training, gets distracted easily, would much rather be naked and likes to hide my cell phone so if you want to meet me at noon, tell me 10:00.

I already used to be late, and now it's really bad. Glad I'm not the only one.
